Sympathy Tulips

I always find it difficult to make a sympathy card.  It may be because the loss of a friend or loved one is difficult to process, or not knowing what to say to someone who has lost a loved one.

This past weekend I attended the funeral of a dear friend’s husband.  He had been a combat veteran and left behind a wife and kids.  The wife requested no flowers in lieu she requested donations be made to a Go Fund Me.  It is a very long and heart wrenching story and can only pray she and her children find peace and resolution to their struggles.

Since she requested no flowers I gave her flowers.  Well, my way of giving flowers.  Tulips because they are happy and hope they may bring a little smile to her and her children.

I made this card with Sue Wilson dies and the image cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  I, absolutely, love the PixScan mat!  Boy, does it beat fussy cutting images.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner.

Happy Anniversary with a House Mouse Birdie Kiss!

Sunday was the 17th wedding anniversary for me and my husband.  We’ve had ups and downs, but we’ve remained together and gotten stronger.  And, this little House Mouse Birdie Kiss reminds me
of my husband who now remembers to bring me flowers.  It makes my heart melt.

I used the Stampendous House Mouse Birdie Kiss stamp for this card.  Isn’t just the cutest stamp.  I had colored it about a year and a half ago and set the image aside until I started making this card.  And, it is perfect!  The printed vellum in the background I picked up a few years ago on clearance and can’t remember the product name.  I used the Sue Wilson Scandinavian Collection – Background Die   and I also pulled out one of the Spellbinders dies.  I had a great deal of fun making this card for my husband and he really enjoyed receiving it.

I want to enter this card into the following challenges:

The HMFMC #220 Something Old…Nothing New Challenge  The stamp I purchased a couple of years ago, the paper I’ve had in my stash forever the vellum behind the die I’ve had  for about 5 years, and the acetate I’ve had in my stash for about a year.

The MarkerPOP Blog Challenge #96 Summertime  This challenge requires to use Copic or another marker.

I enjoyed working on this card for my husband and I hope you enjoyed viewing it.  If anyone would like the directions to it, please leave me a comment and I’ll post the directions.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fun and crazy week!

Birthday Ballerina

It has been almost a year since my granddaughter turned 5 and she will be having another birthday very soon.  They grow so fast!  Any who, this is the card I made for her.  I just love the House Mouse stamps (I think I’ve mentioned that), and I love playing with them.

When I saw this stamp, I just knew it was perfect for my baby’s 5th birthday.  I colored it with Copics and used glitter to make the mouse sparkle.  Sorry, I don’t have the specifics on which markers I used.  I also used a Silhouette Designer cut file for the card base.

This stamp reminds me no matter your age, slip the pink tutu around your waist and twirl.  Bring back the joy and thrills of childhood.

Go grab a tutu and a tiera and enjoy yourself!
